Introduction
Roy Blackler
Members will be sad to learn that the death of Roy Blackler was announced last week. He was 89, and was of course one of the few remaining choristers who had sung under Sir Edward Elgar.
There is a private funeral, and then a memorial service will take place at the Cathedral on Friday 23 July at 2pm.

Hereford Choral Society has been in existence for nearly 175 years, performing concerts in its own right, and also supplying singers for the Three Choirs Festival each year.
Membership of the society is drawn from across the county of Herefordshire, with around 160 regular singers of all ages.
The society is traditionally conducted by the Organist and Director of Music at Hereford Cathedral; Geraint Bowen has held the post since 2001.
